In June 2026, The Big Kem Project hosted the Big Kem Coast Challenge at Taman Jubli Perak, Kuala Belait. It wasn’t just a race — the motto was “Run · Clean · Protect”, and runners picked up litter along the coastline as they went.
The decision process took months, which left a tight window once the order was confirmed. The event was on 6 June; the order was locked on 11 May.
The timeline
- 11 May — Order confirmed.
- 20 May — Client asked for a ribbon change; revised artwork approved the same day.
- 26 May — Mould engraved and medal blanks cast.
- 28 May — Antique plating applied.
- 29 May — Full-colour UV printing added to the plated medals.
- 30 May — Final checks done; shipped.
The medal
The front shows a runner and a beach cleaner side by side against the sunset; the back reads “Running for a Greener Tomorrow”. Antique plating gives the raised detail depth, and UV-printed colour brings in the ocean theme.
Beyond the medal
Eco events often add enamel pins or embroidered patches as reusable keepsakes, and keychains for sponsors.
