What artwork file formats do you accept?

We accept all standard formats, including JPG, PNG, PDF, AI and EPS. Vector artwork reproduces most sharply, but a clear sketch or photo is enough for us to start.

What kind of design works best for die struck?

Contrast comes from raised metal against recessed metal, so bold shapes and even line weights read clearly. Hairline strokes and very small text tend to fill in during striking. If your design depends on fine detail, we will tell you at the proof stage rather than after production.

Will I see the design before production?

Yes. Every order includes a free digital proof, normally ready 1-3 business days after we have your artwork. Nothing goes into production until you approve it.

What makes die struck pins different from enamel pins?

They start the same way: your design is struck into a metal base. An enamel pin then has colour filled into the recesses. A die struck pin skips that step, so the finished piece is all metal and the design reads through relief and shadow rather than colour.

Can I add colour to a die struck pin?

Yes, in selected areas. We can fill a logo, a name banner or a date and leave the rest as bare metal, which keeps the formal look while making one element stand out. Tell us in the order notes which areas you want filled and we will show it on your proof. If you want colour across the whole design, soft enamel is the better process.

What plating finishes are included?

Six, at no extra cost: antique gold, antique silver, antique copper, high-polish gold, high-polish silver, and dual-plating. Antique finishes darken the recesses so relief reads more strongly, which is why they suit detailed crests and seals. You choose yours in the cart.

How are the pins packaged?

Every pin is individually wrapped in a protective sleeve to keep it safe in transit. This is included free with every order.

Are there other packaging options?

Yes. You can upgrade to a clear display box or a velvet presentation box from the cart, priced per pin. Service and membership awards are usually presented in one of the two.

Can I add custom backer cards?

Yes. Custom backer cards are printed with your own artwork and can be added from the cart. Tell us in the order notes if you would like the pins mounted on the cards before they ship.

Why Choose Custom Die Struck Pins?

A die struck pin has no printed layer and no coating to wear through. The design is pressed straight into the metal, so the detail you see is the shape of the metal itself — raised areas polished, recessed areas holding shadow. That is why service awards, membership pins and institutional seals are still made this way decades after the technique was invented.

It is also the most restrained option we make. If you want colour across the whole design, soft enamel pins start from the same struck base and fill every recess. Die struck sits at the other end: mostly bare metal, with colour only where you decide it earns its place.
