Gran Fondo Curacaví brings road cyclists from across central Chile together for a long day in the saddle. For the 2024 edition the organisers wanted a medal that only cyclists would truly get — so we shaped it like a chain ring.
The design
- Gear-tooth outline cut around the edge, with the event emblem in the centre.
- Raised metal with UV-printed colour for the red, black and white of the event logo.
- Red printed ribbon carrying the GFC name, matching the start and finish arches.
A shape-led design like this makes the medal recognisable from across the room — riders spot it in photos before they can read the text.
Beyond the medal
Cycling events and clubs also use custom patches for jerseys and bags, and metal keychains in the same gear shape make a good add-on for entrants.
